The Toyota 3RZ swap replaces your 20R 22R 22RE or 22RET engine with a 2.7L 3RZ-FE engine out of a 1995 -2004 Tacoma. With this swap you are replacing your single overhead cam, 95-110hp engine with the newer 3RZ-FE double over-head cam engine that produces 150 hp. With this swap you also get to upgrade to the newer OBDII engine management system. When this swap is done we keep your factory W series transmission and weld in new motor mounts to the frame. This swap requires that we tie the newer engine management system into your vehicles wiring system. When the swap is complete all factory gauges and lights will work with the addition of the OBD II diagnostic port for ECU scanning. This swap also requires custom exhaust work to route the exhaust back to the driver’s side of the vehicle and a newer OBDII compliant catalytic converter.
IFS Trucks or 4Runners Require a custom pan
Solid front axle trucks and 4runners (Manual Transmission W56) Can use the T100 pan
G series transmissions - G series manual transmission will not bolt up and require that the transmission and transfer case is replaced with a W56
L series transmissions - L series transmission are shorter and require driveline work. Also L series transmissions require a new crossmember is welded in to support the W56 transmission.
Note: If you’re not sure what manual transmission you have, it is labeled on the vehicle. If you have a 1980 to 1988 truck the tag is usually under the hood on the fire wall. It is usually the last digits on the tag. For 1989 -1995 Trucks and 4Runners the tag is on the driver’s door jam.
Cruise Control - The cruise control cable will need to be modified to fit the 3RZ throttle body
A/C - must be updated to newer R134a with adapter lines made.
Non EFI Trucks - This requires a fuel pump installed in the tank and high pressure fuel lines. You will also need to Install a fuse block and run power for the ECU and circuit open relay.
Completely Rebuilt 3RZ engine with 2 year/ 24,000 mile warranty.
